Artemis

Average sized garden of an artist & sculptor with examples of owner’s work as focal points throughout the carefree plantings.

Ballantrae

Large English style garden of immense interest.

Caelum

A pretty English style garden with meandering paths beneath interesting trees and plantings. A formal fountain garden and sunken garden with a fish pond are added features.

Durrol

Large garden dating from late 19th century contains many excellent specimens of deciduous and evergreen trees. A sunken garden exhibits Edna Walling’s great design skills.

Duneria

Grand, historic hill station garden with a magnificent elm lined drive. A secret garden and in spring masses of bluebells.

Glen Rannock

A substantial hill station property of historical, architectural and botanical interest noted for its splendid trees.

Glenbrook

Smaller garden of botanical interest containing many unusual plants selected for a low maintenance garden.

Hascombe

Large, historic hill station garden.

Killiecrankie

Smaller garden of excellent variety a fascinating collection of rare bulbs and alpine plants to interesting trees and shrubs.

Lime Tree House

Named for its avenue of Tilias (Lime Trees) planted in 1918 the garden was destroyed in the Ash Wednesday fires and dates from that event 1983. Unusual trees, a collection of small bulbs, and immaculate box hedging are points of interest.

Lewisham

Large garden surrounds several lakes enhanced by bridges and climber draped pergolas. The many varieties of autumn foliaged trees add spectacular colour during this season.

Maren Kamen

New garden (1998) with unusual planting for the Macedon area. The emphasis on contrasting shapes, textures and colours but working with drought and poor soils has seen the selection of many succulent species and dry tolerant plants.

Raintree Cottage

Created since the 1983 bushfires of Ash Wednesday, the garden surrounds the house with lawn terraces linked with winding paths. Interesting plantings give rise to an array of wonderful autumn colours. Copses of birch and a diverse range of roses are among points of interest.

Tanderra

A parkland style garden containing many mature trees of venerable age. Newer plantings include roses, bulbs and perennials.

Tarn House

The garden surrounds several lovely lakes, winding paths connecting the lush plantings. Silver birch copses with massed under plantings and an excellent collection of roses all add interest to this serene garden.

Tighnabruaich

A garden of many rooms with plant material increasingly selected for dry tolerance and minimal care.

Timsbury

Large garden of English style with many wonderful trees and exotic shrubs.

Tugurium

Stephen Ryan’s garden containing many rare and unusual plant species, cleverly designed with connecting spaces to display this wonderful collection.
